Develop A Multi-Site Recruiting Strategy

Recruiters Network
Where do I post my jobs? One site or all
of them? The best answer is to develop a multi-site recruiting strategy. Each
site drives a different audience and companies that diversify their Internet
recruiting strategies have achieved higher levels of recruiting success. The best
practice is to incorporate a mix of sites.
Below is an
outline to develop a multi-site recruiting plan.
- Company website
One of the most visited pages on a company's web site is the employment section.
Keep your jobs current on your company's web site.
- National Sites
Well-recognized national sites have the highest traffic counts. Companies like
Monster.com, Headhunter.net, etc. have developed truly powerful sites. Driving
national traffic has its positives and negatives. The biggest complaint
from companies is that they do not receive enough local resumes. Their email
box is filled with resumes from all over the country and world.
- Industry Specific Sites
Having troubles finding technical talent or sales professionals. Each
industry has numerous career sites devote strictly for that industry. For example,
Jobs4HR.com, ComputerJobs.com, Dice.com, Salesjobs.com etc. The advantage of
these niche sites drive is that they drive very focused traffic.
- Regional Sites
There
are also career sites that serve cities, states and regions. These sites are ideal
for driving local candidates. The traffic is less than national sites but it
is a targeted way to drive local resumes. For example, WiJobs.com,
TexasJobs.com, ChicagoJobs.com, etc.
There isnt one site that can satisfy
all your hiring needs. Posting on one career site is not an effective internet
recruiting approach. Develop a list of potential sites, post your jobs on them
and track your success. Analyze where you are getting the best and most resumes
and drop the deadbeats. Add new sites to keep the recruiting pipeline filled. Companies that use a variety of the sites will achieve
Internet recruiting success.
