advertising campaign at
http://www.careerbuilder.com/TV as part of a major
online marketing blitz. The ad features a humorous twist
on office life with a frustrated male human employee
working in a chaotic cubicle environment where fellow
employees just so happen to be chimpanzees. As the human
employee witnesses various antics around the office
where he is left to pick up the slack, he laments to a
disgruntled customer on the phone, "I'm sorry. It's just
that I work with a bunch of monkeys."

purchased two 30-second spots that will air during the
second and third quarters of the Super Bowl. The spots
feature more tales from the office, parodying
dissatisfying work experiences and providing words of

USUAL WEEKLY EARNINGS OF WAGE AND SALARY WORKERS:
FOURTH QUARTER 2004
 Median
weekly earnings of the nation's 101.6 million full-time
wage and salary workers were $647 in the fourth quarter
of 2004, the Bureau of
Labor Statistics of the U.S. Department of Labor
reported today. This was 3.5 percent higher than a year
earlier, compared with a gain of 3.3 percent in the
Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U)
over the same period.
Data on usual earnings are collected as part of the
Current Population Survey, a nationwide sample survey of
households in which respondents
are asked, among other things, how much each wage and
salary worker usually earns. (See the Explanatory Note.)

FORTUNE 500 COMPANIES FILLED 275,126 US
POSITIONS IN DECEMBER 2004
For December 2004, the Taleo Talent
Index shows 275,126 positions filled in the US among
Fortune 500 companies, with 183,640 positions filled
with hires from outside the company and 91,486 positions
filled with internal hires. While the Taleo Talent Index
does not provide data on new job creation, it projects
total positions filled with full or part-time employees;
these positions may be new or may be replacement of
workers that have left or filled other jobs internally.
According to data released by the
Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics on
January 7, 2005, non-farm payrolls in December continued
to expand, growing 157,000 to 132.3 million in December,
while the unemployment rate remained at 5.4%.
