1. How loyal are job seekers to one Web site?
When attempting to get high penetration within your
selected market via the Web, you'll need to post to more
than one site. Why? Because Web visitors are loyal to
their site of choice. For example, 67 percent of HotJobs
visitors are exclusive users, while 58 percent of

2. What is the most effective search tactic?
When prospective employees set out to look for a job,
they have an almost limitless way of discovering job
openings. Here's the top search tactics they are using:

3. How many multiple jobholders are there in the
United States?
5.4% of those employed are holding multiple jobs. That
breaks down nearly evenly between men and women. Of
those who have two jobs, women are far more likely to
have two part-time positions (1,030,000 to 513,000),
where men dominate in holding two full-time jobs
(197,000 to 94,000). Overall, the percentage of multiple
jobholders in the market have remained constant over the

4. When do people take their vacations?
Ever wonder how effective an open house or special
campaign will be during the summer? You know that people
are on vacation during that three-month period, but just
how many more or away from their homes and jobs during
the summer compared with the other 9 months of the year.

growth from 2000-2010?
The success of your future recruiting efforts may depend

readership?
Oddly enough, the readership of Sunday newspapers in the
United States has actually increased 4% since 1998.
However, as a percentage of the total population Sunday
newspaper readership is declining - from 68.1% in 1998
to 64.4% in 2001.

7. How plentiful are jobs for new college
graduates?
Not surprisingly, over the past it has become
increasingly difficult for new college graduates to find
a job - so says a National Association of Colleges and
Employers study. When all is said and done, companies
expect to hire 36.4% fewer new college graduates in the
2001-2002 school year. Here's how that breaks down:
Service Employers 27.1% decrease
Manufacturers 51.7% decrease
Nonprofit Employers 22% decrease
Federal Government 16.2% increase

8. What cities have the lowest and highest cost of
living?
The cost of living affects your ability to relocate
talent to your market. Some look at an increase in
salary as wonderful until they realize the cost
differential from their current location to yours. Here
are some figures that you might find enlightening. Each
