2003 - A Year of Possibility and Opportunity!

What will 2003 hold for our industry? It is my firm belief that 2003 will be a year of fantastic recovery and growth for our business. And since 2003 has not yet begun, I want to "coach" you in deciding exactly what this will look like for you, then support you in identifying the actions that you think will make this a reality.

WHAT DO YOU WANT?

The fact that you are reading this article tells me a lot about you. You're still here! You've already weathered an incredibly difficult period for our business. Congratulations on hanging in there.

If you have not done so already, now is the time to choose your goals for 2003. Do you just want to get by in 2003? Is survival enough? Or do you want to make it a year to remember? If so, what would that look like for you?

Once you decide what you really want (what will have you leaping out of bed each day with joy and anticipation) the next step is a plan of action. The following ten questions will help you begin your plan.

TEN QUESTIONS TO CONSIDER IN CREATING A GREAT YEAR

1. What do you really, really, really want to achieve in 2003? (Think big! The more your goals make you grin is an indicator of how right they are for you.)

2. What did you learn in 2002? How can you use this to create an amazing 2003?

3. How can you upgrade your company to serve you better?

4. What are five things you believe you personally need to do better in 2003?

5. What resources have you overlooked or under-utilized that could help you have an incredible year?

6. What niche or specialty could you add that will enhance your business? (Check with the Economic Development department in the area or areas you serve...they are a great resource to tell you what’s hot, and what’s not.)

7. If not already a part of your sales strategy, how could the addition of perm placement or contracting help grow your revenues?

8. What do you need to let go of that is no longer serving you well? (Just imagine what you could do with that extra time!)

9. When will you take time off in 2003? (It is human nature to need a break from all of your hard work.)

10. What else do you need to consider in order to make it a great year?

With some planning and focus, you can create an incredible year. So go for it...you deserve it!
